Third assignment.  Due April 1 (heehee)

You will do the Mankiw macro simulation .  You will record your results, discuss them, and publish them on the web.

The simulation can be found at
http://bcs.worthpublishers.com/mankiw5/pages/bcs-main.asp?v=category&s=00070&n=98000&i=98070.01

You may need the shockwave plug in and you should click on the test button to determine that.

Do NOT adjust monetary policy as we will cover that later.  Use Govt and Taxes to play.

Using snapit (see below) record and save screen shots every four years.  Save the shots in a directory such as e124\simul or e124\a3

There are a number of free editors available on the net.  I will demonstrate using Mozilla 1.2.1 (availabe at www.mozilla.org).
Netscape 4.8 (or 4.7x) has much the same editor - publishing is a bit different.

Below each screen shot (use Insert Image to insert the saved image screen shot)
add a discussion of the 4 prior years - what you did, why you did it, what you expected as a result, and what actually happened.

To publish the homework, you will have to do that on your artsci account or engineering account.

Also, just in case it does not work, zip up the folder, and email it to e124s02@economics.wustl.edu with your usual subject line.  In that way
I can help you get the assignment published.  If you have having trouble, be sure to email me, bob@parks.wustl.edu with a subject
e124 help a3
and include your username and pw and where you think you are to publish.

Email the web page URL to me, bob@parks.wustl.edu with a subject of E124 YournameF where YournameF is as it is on the evaluation list.

Snapit is a screen shooter. I like to run it, then get something I want on the screen, press F12, get the cursor to the top left, click and hold and go to the bottom right, and release. Then Edit Copy and paste it into eg word.

You can get snapit.zip and unzip it to your disk.  You can also unzip it to a floppy.  If you choose your hard disk, I strongly suggest using C:\snapit or c:\Programs\snapit - you will probably not have the directory Programs - I like to put 'programs' there that need no installation.

snapit.zip
snap32.exe
snap32.hlp For NS users, shift click on each of these, and store them in e.g., c:\programs\snapshot
I don't think you need these but just in case:
readme.txt
register.exe
register.hlp

Alternatively, here is a zip file with it all. snapit.zip
